Terms of use

By installing or using Marknote, you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, do not install or use the software.

1. Grant of use

Subject to your compliance with these terms, you may install and use Marknote on devices you own or control for personal or commercial use, free of charge.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits;
  • remove or alter any proprietary notices in the software; or
  • use the software in any unlawful manner.

3. Third-party components

Marknote incorporates open-source components, each governed by its own license. A complete list with the full text of each license is available within the application at About → Open-source licenses.

4. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You assume all risks associated with the use of the software.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will the publisher be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

6. Trademarks

These terms do not grant you any rights to use the publisher's trademarks, including "Marknote" and the Marknote logo, except as necessary to identify the software.

7. Updates

The publisher may release updates to the software via the Microsoft Store. Such updates are governed by these same terms unless accompanied by a separate notice.

8. Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated. They terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them. Upon termination, you must uninstall and stop using the software.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

10. Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Microsoft Store Standard Application License Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and the publisher regarding the software.
